But what I wanted to talk about in this blogentry was his assassination. That day in January he was shot at point-blank range by a man named Nathuram Godse. He was an hindutva activist, and at the time of the assassination Gandhi had just given the muslims the areas in India where it was Muslim-majority. The hindus saw this as a betrail, because Gandhi himself was a Hindu. Gandhi believed it would bring peace, but instead he was assassinated because of his agreement to this seperation of muslim and hindu. Gandhi was, at the time of his death, a man who we all remember as old and always wearing his little round glasses. But I hope after you've read this, you will remember him for much more than that.
Truely a man of knowledge, will and committment, and a man who inspired millions of people and changed. something, ment something and made a diffrence. A man who will be remembered as one of the most important in the history og humanity.
