NOW I have finally seen The Help! For a long time I been wanting to see this movie and ofc the famous scene with the "chocolate pie"...
But for those who not yet have seen the movie, here is a quick summary of the plot:
The Help is set in Jackson, Mississippi in the 1960's. At this time the civil rights movement was in an early stage, so therefore Jackson was a racially segregated town. The action in the film revolve around just that.
There are three main characters. Two black and one white: Minny, Aibileen and Skeeter (the three women from the left in the picture). They come together to publish a book of anonymously written stories about the experiences of black women working as maids for white families in Jackson.
I must admit that it does not sound like the most exciting movie. Maids writing a book about housework and cleaning and all... BUT there is right here the brilliance of this movie is. Those stories, I would say, are both scary true and hilarious. They are credible stories about the racial segregation from a black maid's point of view and at the same time they are taking it to high levels of humor.
It is a brilliant movie I recommend EVERYONE OF YOU to watch. You will laugh, you will cry and I can assure you, you will not be disappointed!
